I am an American psychoanalyst and psychotherapist working in private practice in Berlin.
Psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy can be an effective tool in solving psychological problems, including anxiety, depression,
relationship difficulties, and self-defeating behavior patterns.
My own experience in studying and practicing therapy has provided me with a special understanding of the unique ways in which emotional conflicts can undermine pleasure and interfere with creative satisfactions.
My work aims to discover each person‘s unique capacities for turning maladaptive solutions into adaptive ones in order to more effectively handle new challenges, thereby freeing life from the constraints and suffering imposed by the past.
Additionally, I have the unique perspective of someone who has lived in the very different cultures of the United States and Germany.
While human nature is basically the same in all regions, the cultural stamp can make for quite different ways of approaching life's problems and my direct knowledge of that is a useful complement to
my long clinical experience and study of the field of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy.
